I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The luxury double room was equipped with excellent facilities, but unfortunately, it was located within 20 years of a church bell tower that chimed every hour through the night. On the bright side, the room had secondary glazing and offered a lovely view across the fields.

The luxury double room I stayed in had excellent facilities, but the proximity to the church bell tower chimes all night was not ideal. However, the secondary glazing helped reduce the noise, and the view across the fields was lovely.
Service
7.0
The service at this hotel was a bit of a mixed bag for me. While the staff were very polite, helpful, friendly, and approachable, I had a slight delay during check-out due to a 10-minute phone call to arrange a booking.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was stunning, offering great views and opportunities for walks straight from the door. It was very handy for visiting the coast and nearby areas like Pickering, Scarborough, Filey, and Whitby. The staff, including the apparent owner, were attentive, amiable, and present. The option to sit out in the sun and enjoy a drink was a bonus.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was a mix of positives and negatives. The meals were fab with a good standard of food, and there was a large choice available, including both cooked breakfast options and continental. However, the offerings seemed narrowly defined with variations on 'full English/Yorkshire' at a price of £88.00 a night, higher than expected.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel's facilities were decent, offering a good standard of dining choices. The afternoon tea was described as divine and plentiful, enhancing the overall experience. While there were only a few ranges of options, the attention to detail in service and food quality were notable.

The hotel is situated in a charming village location, ideal for exploring the North Yorks Moors and coastal areas. The rooms are spacious, clean, and offer a large standalone bath and separate shower, but some noise from the nearby church bells every hour. The service is exceptional, going above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay with thoughtful gestures like decorating our table with confetti. The location is perfect for enjoying walks straight from the doorstep and easy access to nearby attractions. The dining experience was top-notch with delicious local produce, although the breakfast start time was later than expected.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were a little on the small side, but surprisingly comfortable and clean. The location is great for exploring the North Yorks Moors and coast, but it's directly on a busy road. The service was mostly friendly, but there was a rude encounter late at night. The dining experience was self-service, which was unexpected for the price, but the dishes were good and generous.
